Germany holds off Poland for a two-point win, 96-94

Germany held off Poland's comeback to secure a 96-94 win in Group K of FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 qualifying. Germany opened with a dominant first quarter (28-15) and kept control for most of the game, though Poland stayed within reach until the end.

Mateusz Ponitka led Poland with 20 points and 8 rebounds, and the hosts won the third quarter 29-27. Germany's 25-13 fourth quarter, however, proved enough to protect the road win.

Dennis Schröder added 18 points and 5 assists for the visitors, while I. Milicic (18) and Jordan Loyd (16) rounded out a balanced effort. Germany's 30-for-36 free-throw line made the difference in a tight contest.
